BREMERTON — Marcus Equsquiza shaved six shots off his opening-round 82 to card a 158 and tie for 17th as Walla Walla Community College’s golfers finished the NWAC Men’s Fall League match at McCormick Woods Golf Club on Monday.

For the Warrior women, Brooke Cramer dropped two strokes on Monday to finish 87-85—172 and finish in sixth.

“Brooke and Marcus each had respectable finishes, although they both talked about their costly mistakes afterwards,” WWCC coach Mike Rostollan said. “Marcus had to put the driver away after the first few holes, and Brooke racked up 35 putts.

“Their teammates had stories to tell too, the moral being more work needs to happen on everyone’s game,” he said.

The Warrior men wound up with a team score of 681, behind winner Southwest Oregon’s 592.

The WWCC women finished in sixth in the 10-team tournament at 546, behind the 515 that co-winners Spokane and Columbia Basin carded.

For the WWCC men, Conor Lees finished 84-80—164 to tie for 35th, followed by Austin Khile (87-86—173), Riley Chester (90-102—192), Wyatt Utt (103-99—202) and Sterling Sandberg (107-96—203).

Southwest Oregon’s Gerry Snyder medaled with 143.

On the women’s side, the Warriors’ Cramer was followed by Brooke Orr’s 95-89—184, Camryn Cox (94-96—190), Kylie Gronning (97-99—196), Ally Chapman (113-106—219) and Cynthia DeVille (113-110—223).
