Warrior Softball sweeps Blue Mountain

Walla Walla battered Blue Mountain 16-2 and 8-0 Sunday in a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region softball doubleheader at Warriors Field.

Mikayla Faulkner and Lyndzie Parker each connected for their fifth home run of the season and Hailey Danly slammed her second to power the Warriors in the opener. Parker knocked in four runs and scored three times while Anna Williams doubled and singled, collected three RBIs and scored three times.

Rachel Collins went the five-inning distance, striking out six, walking two and allowing three Timberwolves hits .

WWCC Softball loses opener, rain washes out second game

Walla Walla Community College got one game of their scheduled NWAC softball double header in before the rains came and washed out the second game here Saturday in women’s softball action. In a see saw battle, Southwest Oregon Community College emerged with a 13-10 win.

The Warriors got off to a good start after SOCC plated a run in the top of the first. The Warriors answered with a three-spot in the home first. The Lakers responded with four in the third and tacked on three more in the top of the fifth.

Ten Warrior softball players earn post-season honors

The Warriors softball team was honored with ten players being named to various post-season accolades this past week. WWCC ended the season with a 29-20 overall record. They finished in 2nd place in the East Region and made an appearance in the NWAC Championship Tournament.

Mikayla Faulkner and Anna Williams were named to the East Region first team as infielders, Erin Ware was a first team outfielder, and Jacie McDaniels was first team utility player. Mallory Chavez was named second team pitcher and Mackenzie Watts was a second team outfielder.

Warrior softball sweeps Spokane, takes 2nd in East Region

Walla Walla Community College had to wait a couple of days, but the Warriors’ softball team followed a long rain delay with back-to-back wins over Spokane, 12-11 and 11-1, to wrap up their regular-season schedule in a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region doubleheader here Monday.

Spokane had jumped ahead with four runs in the top of the first inning Friday, when rain postponed action on Saturday.

Action resumed Monday — with Spokane up, 4-0, in the bottom of the first inning — and the Sasquatch picked up where they left off. By the sixth inning, Spokane had increased its lead to 11-4.

Warriors complete softball sweep of Timberwolves

PENDLETON — Erin Ware and Carli Taylor each slugged their third home run of the season here Tuesday, powering Walla Walla to a 15-10 victory over Blue Mountain in the first game of a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region softball doubleheader.

Ware homered with a runner on base it the midst of WWCC’s four-run rally in the fourth inning. Taylor’s was a solo shot as part of a four-run outburst in the fifth.

Warriors pull out split at North Idaho

COUER D’ALENE — Walla Walla Community College plated a run in the top of the seventh inning and grabbed a 10-9 softball win over North Idaho here on Sunday.

The Warriors rode a five-run fifth inning, while the Cardinals scored three in both the third and fifth, as the teams were tied at 9-all going to the seventh.

In the decisive seventh, WWCC’s Mikayla Faulkner made it to first base on an error, and scored on Jacie McDaniels’ double.

The Cardinals put two runners aboard in their seventh, but the Warriors closed out the victory.

Softball smothers Timberwolves

Walla Walla smothered Blue Mountain, 10-2 and 13-3, Tuesday afternoon at Warriors Field in a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region softball doubleheader.

Both games were stopped after five innings on the eight-run mercy rule.

WWCC bumped its season record to 7-9 and now stands 5-1 in league games. The Timberwolves slid to 0-6 in East Region play and 2-16 overall.

Brittney Bradley and Mallory Chavez turned in strong pitching performances for the Warriors. Bradley yielded a pair of first inning runs and then blanked Blue Mountain the rest of the way, allowing two hits, two walks and striking out three.

SW Oregon takes two from WWCC softball

Walla Walla Community College suffered through a miserable Saturday here in NWAC non-conference softball action.

The weather delayed the completion of a scheduled noon start doubleheader until after 7:30 p.m.

And then there were the bats of Southwest Oregon. The Lakers pounded out 34 hits, including five home runs, in sweeping the twin bill 11-7 and 18-1.

In the opener, Southwest Oregon blasted three clutch home runs to down the Warriors 11-7. Shevan DeFreitas started the long ball party with a three-run shot in the first as the Lakers jumped to a 4-0 lead after one.

Warriors swept by Chukars in season finale

Treasure Valley held off a Walla Walla Community College rally to win the opener of their NWAC East twin bill on the Warriors’ field on Saturday, 10-8, and shutout WWCC 10-0 in the nightcap.
The Chukars held a 6-1 lead after two innings in the opener, tacked on two more in the third and solo runs in the fifth and sixth.
The Warriors rallied for five fifth-inning runs, and two in the bottom of the seven, but couldn’t complete the comeback.

Wenatchee softball sweeps Warriors

WENATCHEE — Walla Walla Community College’s softball team dropped a pair of Northwest Athletic Conference Eastern Region softball games to powerhouse Wenatchee Valley on Saturday.
The Knights flexed their offensive muscle throughout the day. They banged out 20 hits during a 17-2 victory in the opener and socked 18 more in a 16-4, game-two romp.
The Warriors’ Baily Bennett and Cheyenne Kessler had two hits apiece in each game for the Warriors, who slipped to 8-14 in league and 14-26 overall.
Second-place WVC, which has won eight of its last 10 games, improved to 19-6 and 29-11.
