Walla Walla Softball Players Sign with NNU

NAMPA, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) A pair of athletes who graduated from Magic Valley schools in 2015 will continue their playing careers, together.

Since then Jerome grad Lyndzie Parker and Filer graduate Anna Williams both played softball at Walla Walla Community College in Washington State.

Now they recently received scholarships to Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa.

Parker is following in her brother Logan’s path at NNU, who graduated in 2013.

As for their former team, the Warriors took third at the NWAC Championship in May.

Williams made the NWAC first team as a 5’7″ utility player, while Parker who’s an infielder listed at 5’5″, […]

Twelve Warriors earn Post-Season Accolades

Twelve members of the WWCC Baseball team have earned post-season honors for their work both on the field and in the classroom. The Warriors finished the season with a 30-20 record, won the North Super Regional, and took home 3rd place at the NWAC Championships. This was the Warriors second appearance in the NWAC Championships in the last three years and their highest finish since 1999.

Warriors tie for 3rd at NWAC Championships

LONGVIEW, Wash. — Walla Walla lost its final two games of the Northwest Athletic Conference Championships here over the weekend, but still came away with its highest finish since 1999 in a tie for third place.

Everett knocked the Warriors out of the season-ending baseball tourney with a 9-2 victory Sunday at Story Field, less than 24 hours after host Lower Columbia had bumped WWCC into the consolation bracket with a 13-3 romp.

Warriors win Super Regional to advance to NWAC Championships

BELLEVUE — Walla Walla Community College’s baseball team picked up a pair of NWAC Super Regional victories on Friday, 6-2 over Centralia and 11-7 over Bellevue, to advance to again play Bellevue on Saturday.
On Saturday afternoon, Bellevue, with a run in the bottom of the eighth, pulled out a 3-2 victory over the Warriors.
With the win, Bellevue forced a loser-out battle with the Warriors on Sunday morning, with WWCC winning 12-9 to advance to the NWAC tournament, and end the Bulldogs’ season.

Warrior softball finishes 3rd at NWAC Championship Tournament

SPOKANE — Walla Walla Community College picked up two victories on Friday, 3-2 over Lower Columbia and 8-0 over Mount Hood, and another on Saturday, 9-6 over North Idaho.

In the Warriors’ opener on Friday morning, Rachel Collins pitched into the sixth inning, striking out two Red Devils, before Brandi Schoessler took over to close out the victory.

Walla Walla scored solo runs in the each of the first three innings, while Lower Columbia managed two runs in the third inning.

Emily Thornton had three of WWCC’s 10 hits in the victory.

Adams leads WWCC golfers to 5th

BANDON, Ore. — Walla Walla Community College men climbed up to fifth place, with Zac Adams tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard, on the final day of the Southwestern Oregon Invitational here on Monday. 

Playing at Bandon Trails, the Warriors combined to shoot a 296 (a 17-stroke improvement over Sunday at Pacific Dunes). They finished only three strokes behind fourth-place Skagit Valley.

Adams finished as WWCC’s top individual, thanks in large part to a 1-under-par 70 on Sunday. He followed with a five-over 76 that included not only a birdie but also a pace of play penalty at Bandon Trails.

Warriors take East #3 seed to Regionals

YAKIMA — Walla Walla Community College cemented a playoff spot, although not the No. 2 East region seed, here Saturday in NWAC East Region baseball action.

Yakima Valley, with a one game lead over the Warriors for the No. 2 seed, took the opener 8-4. The Warriors got an eight inning six-hit effort from Carson Woolery in the night cap to post a 4-3 win and split the double dip.

The Warriors take the No. 3 East seed to the playoffs. WWCC finishes at 17-11 while the Yaks hang onto the second seed at 18-10.

Warriors split with Spokane

SPOKANE — Walla Walla Community College and Spokane, two of three teams battling for the NWAC East’s final playoff spots, split their baseball doubleheader here on Wednesday.

Spokane handed Walla Walla a 7-3 loss in the first game, but the Warriors bounced back with a 6-3 win in the nightcap.

Treasure Valley, the other team in the mix, split its Wednesday twin bill at Blue Mountain.

By day’s end, Walla Walla remained in third place with a 16-10 record.

WWCC Softball rolls to sweep of Columbia Basin

PASCO — Walla Walla Community College won a Northwest Athletic Conference softball doubleheader here at Columbia Basin on Wednesday.

The Warriors rallied in the seventh inning to force extras before pulling off a 7-4 win in nine in the opener, and then completed the sweep with a 7-0 victory in the nightcap.

Walla Walla Community College’s baseball team ended the home portion of its 2017 schedule Saturday afternoon by sweeping a Northwest Athletic Conference East Region doubleheader from last-place Wenatchee Valley at Warrior Field.

WWCC knocked off the Knights in the opener, 12-1, behind a 12-hit attack and four-hit pitching by Robby Heiberg.

Walla Walla built an early 4-0 lead in the nightcap before holding on for an 8-5 triumph.
